Changing the World through Art
A Gala and Art Auction
The Time In Children’s Arts Initiative transforms the lives and educations of underserved public elementary school children through an intellectually and aesthetically stimulating arts immersion integrating opera, art, museum visits, gallery hops, language and literature into the normal school day. Joyously engaging the arts to give at-risk children the tools and support that they need to flourish, thrive & hope, Time In ensures at risk-children a thoughtfully crafted, arts-enriched education in which each child’s talents and needs are recognized, and the support for greater creativity, intelligence, self-esteem and a brighter, better future is more than just a promise.
Time In’s over 600 students – some of Harlem and the South Bronx’s youngest and most at-risk public school kids – have visited well over 100 major contemporary art exhibits: from Murakami, Tomaselli, Mickalene Thomas and Mutu at the Brooklyn Museum to Ernesto Neto at Tanya Bonakdar, Yayoi Kusama at Gagosian and David Zwirner, Maurizio Cattelan, Gutai, Picasso and Zero at the Guggenheim, William Kentridge and DeKooning at MOMA and so many other incredible exhibitions. Time In’s Chelsea gallery is an art haven for some of the city’s youngest, most at-risk public school students who, thanks to Time In, spend every other week in our natural light studio learning opera after opera through hands-on art.
The Time In Children’s Arts Initiative is entirely funded through the generosity of individual donors, and donors with support from The Catalog for Giving, The Dedalus Foundation, E.H.A Foundation, The Harman Family Foundation, The Subak Family Foundation, The Kinder Morgan Foundation, The Lincoln Fund, Youth, Inc., The New York State Council on the Arts, The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, among others.
Help fund Time In’s transformative work with some of the city’s youngest and most at risk kids!
