Irgin Sena

Irgin Sena was born in Albania and lives and works in New York. He has a MFA from Hunter College. In 2008 and 2012-13, he was an artist-in-residence at the International Studio and Curatorial Program (ISCP), (NY).  

In 2007, he recieved the ARDHJE Award for Contemporary Art and in 2012, he was given the Marian Netter Award. Sena has participated at Multiplicity (New York), Several Circles (New York); New Insight, curated by Susanne Ghez (Chicago); Qui Vive?: International Moscow Biennale for Young Art in (Moscow), and Tirana Bienale 3, in collaboration with Andrea Kuluncic in Tirana (Albania).  


 

Irgin’s work has been shown at Mixed Greens Gallery (New York), Invisible-Exports (New York), The National Art Gallery at The National Museum (Tirana), The Futura- centre for contemporary art (Prague), Art Chicago (Chicago), ISCP (New York), Boots Contemporary Art Space (St. Louis), Vanessa Quang Galerie (Paris), House am Lutzowplatz (Berlin), The National Gallery (Prishtina), Miza Gallery (Tirana), FAP Gallery (Tirana), Lothringer 13/Spiegel (Munich) and Badischer-Kunstverein (Karlsruhe). 

Irgin joined Time In as a leading guest artist during 2012’s preparations for the children's show at chashama.  Irgin's highly conceptual presentation intrigued and inspired many children and he worked closely with them for the final five weeks of the year.
