For over two decades I’ve been known for my paintings, video installations, musicals and performances exploring the themes of narcissism, desire, power and failure.
Using painting as well as pop cultural forms like stand up comedy, pop music, comic books and even 5 episodes of a sitcom. (Directed by Joshua White of Max Headroom and Seinfeld fame no less!)
My work has been seen at Museum of Modern Art (2004), Charlie James Gallery LA (2016), Pompidou Center (2015) in biennials in Havana, Valencia and at ARCOMadrid in 2008 and even been reproduced on the editorial page of the NY Times in 2013. Writing in the NY Times in October of that same year Roberta Smith called my work “A tour de force that showcases his considerable talents for satire, stand-up, endurance art and painting…”
This coming April I have an artist’s monograph called “A Mountain of Skulls and Not One I Recognize” being released with essays by Christian Viveros-Fauné, Jerry Brotton and an interview with Ariela Gittlen.
